Many people across the country and even the globe enjoy the originally Greek food gyros. This form of slow roasted meat served in a pita is a form of Greek fast food. In the United States, we have the hamburger. In Greece, they have the gyro.
In the United States, the food was introduced in 1968 in the Chicago area. Since then, it has spread to the rest of the country. At the Bisbee Grille, the gyro is made of beef and lamb, topped with diced tomatoes, onions lettuce and tzatziki sauce wrapped in warm pita bread.
You are maybe asking, "Tzatziki sauce?" it is traditionally a white sauce that is made of strained yogurt which then has minced cucumbers, garlic, salt, and a variety of seasonings added to it. The yogurt, in Greece at least, is typically made with goat or sheep's milk. The Grille has their own secret recipe that does not use the goat or sheep's milk.
